Cubic capacity is one of the most important commercial measurement used in shipping. It can be expressed in cubic meters, or cubic feet when the intrinsic weight of cargo is so low that the ship becomes full without being loaded to the cargo line. In the context of shipping, the term cubic capacity implies the product of length, width, and depth in inches of a package divided by 1728 to be expressed as cubic-feet.
