- Customs and duties. Imports are declared to the Kenya Revenue Authority, and duties and 16% VAT are usually due at import.
- Product conformity. Many regulated products need a certificate of conformity before shipment under the KEBS pre-export verification programme.
- EU–Kenya trade agreement. The Economic Partnership Agreement gives Kenyan exports duty-free access to the EU and gradually opens Kenya to EU goods.
